About Art of Logic

Art of Logic is an Australian technology company building software platforms for organisations that need to monitor and manage complex, real-world environments.

Our core product, the Samurai Suite, combines advanced video analytics with system health monitoring, and is deployed across sectors including law enforcement, retail, and critical infrastructure.

At our core, we’re solving practical, high-impact problems — building systems that don’t just look good on paper but perform reliably where it matters most.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of our system health monitoring platform — from the user-facing interface through to backend services, database management, and production deployment.

In this role, you’ll be the key contributor across the full stack of our monitoring product: a React frontend, Node.js backend, and Python-based listener services. Working alongside our broader engineering team, you’ll contribute to both the UI/UX and the underlying infrastructure that keeps our platform reliable and performant in production environments.

You’ll play a key part in shaping how this product evolves, bringing the engineering judgement needed to make sound design decisions and the communication skills to ensure those decisions align with our broader roadmap.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft — an engineer who values clean, maintainable code and holds themselves to a high standard throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the full stack of our system health monitoring platform, from React frontend through Node.js backend and Python listener services
  • Design and build user-facing features with a focus on clear, effective UI/UX
  • Manage and evolve the platform’s database layer, ensuring data integrity and performance
  • Deploy and maintain the platform in production environments, driving the path from development through to reliable operation
  • Participate in code reviews and help evolve engineering standards across the team.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a demonstrated ability to deliver production systems end-to-end
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (React and Node.js) and Python
  • Solid understanding of systems architecture and the ability to make sound design decisions at the feature and component level
  • Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining software in production environments (CI/CD, containerisation, cloud infrastructure)
  • Experience with database design, management, and optimisation
  • A sense of ownership over UI/UX quality, not just functionality.

Why Join Us

  • Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 depending on experience
  • Build software that operates in real environments — from public safety to retail — where your work has clear, tangible impact
  • Be part of a small, collaborative engineering team where your ideas are heard and your technical judgement matters
  • Work on genuinely interesting problems in system monitoring, operational tooling, and full stack platform development
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements, based out of our Mawson Lakes office
