Product Manager
Location: Sydney CBD – In office 3 days per week
Package: Up to $160k base + Super
The Opportunity:
One of Australia’s fastest scaling fintechs is hiring a commercially minded, data-led Product Manager to own the pre-cash-out journey across its lending products.
You’ll work across short-term cash flow and personal loans, where every decision shows up in approvals, losses, unit economics and customer experience.
This is not a fluffy PM role, and it is not a glorified BA mandate. Reporting into the lending lead in the C-suite, you’ll sit in a lean squad with a fellow PM, designers and engineers, and be expected to spot the next best opportunities from the data, size them commercially and turn them into product direction.
You’re the one who looks at the numbers first, breaks problems down, works through the trade-offs and turns that into clear requirements and action.
What you’ll do:
- Own the end-to-end pre-cash-out journey across web and mobile
- Monitor daily performance and identify what is moving across approvals, conversion, losses and customer behaviour
- Use self-serve data and product analytics to diagnose issues, size opportunities and prioritise what to ship next
- Turn lending strategy into clear problems, commercial options, KPIs and a focused backlog
- Analyse activation, conversion, usage, default rates, credit risk and unit economics
- Write and refine detailed requirements, user stories, rules and edge cases
- Partner with lending, risk, operations, marketing and analytics on business cases, prioritisation and trade-offs
- Work closely with design and engineering in a modern, mobile-first stack
- Ensure changes are safe, compliant and operationally sound
- Keep lending transparent, useful and commercially smart, not just bigger for the sake of volume
What you bring:
- Strong experience as a digital Product Manager owning a core web or app-based journey
- Experience in consumer lending, BNPL, on-demand pay, digital banking or other regulated credit products
- Strong commercial instinct, able to compare options, size the prize and focus on the highest-value initiatives
- Deep comfort with data, you pull your own numbers, interrogate what changed and use that to make decisions
- Proven ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured analysis, practical options and clear next steps
- Ability to write crisp, detailed requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria, and think through edge cases
- Tech-native mindset, comfortable talking about APIs, rules engines, data flows and where things can break
- High curiosity and low ego, you ask good questions, like getting into the weeds and do not wait for others to tell you what matters
- Clear, direct communication style and confidence working closely with senior leaders in a small, fast-moving team
