Work Style: Hybrid (Tue–Thurs, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST)

Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer with strong Kotlin expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with modern backend technologies, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable backend services using Kotlin
• Build and maintain RESTful and SOAP APIs
• Develop microservices and event-driven systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
• Implement high-quality code using TDD/BDD practices
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
• Explore and integrate emerging technologies and tools

Required Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Kotlin (primary skill)
• Experience with Java (Spring Boot, Spring Security)
• Working knowledge of Node.js / JavaScript
• Hands-on experience with:
• Microservices & Event-Driven Architecture
• REST & SOAP APIs
• Unit Testing (JUnit), Cucumber, BDD frameworks
• CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and cloud-native platforms

Development Practices

• Strong understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration
• Ability to deliver high-quality code in fast-paced environments

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to open-source technologies or contributions
• Experience building proof-of-concepts (POCs)
• Passion for learning and adopting new technologies
