Summary:
The Junior Security Network Engineer will assist in maintaining and improving the security of our network infrastructure. This role includes monitoring network security, responding to incidents, and supporting the implementation of security measures to protect against threats.

Responsibilities

Network Monitoring: Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and potential threats using various security tools and software.
Incident Response: Assist in responding to security incidents and breaches, including investigation, documentation, and resolution.
Security Tools Management: Help in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of network security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and antivirus software.
Vulnerability Assessment: Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security risks.
Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and procedures. Assist in the development and updating of these policies as needed.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of security incidents, solutions, and other relevant activities.
Support: Provide support for security-related issues to other IT and network teams. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving network security problems.
Training and Awareness: Participate in security training programs and assist in conducting security awareness training for employees.
Stay Updated: Keep up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (Associate), or similar.
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in network security or related fields. Internships or practical projects during education can be beneficial.
Basic understanding of network protocols and architecture.
Familiarity with security tools and software.
Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and anti-virus software.
Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and their security features.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $38.00 - $40.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
