About the Opportunity

Horizon Digital is partnering with a major Perth-based organisation on a high-impact engineering project and is looking for a solid C# / Python Backend Developer to join the team.

This is a hands-on role focused on building and maintaining the backend services and data layer that sit alongside a real-time operational system. You'll be working on software where reliability, integration, and data quality genuinely matter.

The Role

You'll build and maintain backend services and APIs in C# and Python, working closely with the wider engineering team on a system that processes real-time operational data at scale.

This role would suit someone who enjoys building robust, maintainable backend systems, is comfortable working across multiple integrations, and brings a solid engineering mindset to production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and APIs in C# and/or Python
• Build and maintain data pipelines connecting to platform services
• Contribute to automated testing frameworks and development standards
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams on system integration

What We're Looking For

• Solid C# and/or Python backend development experience
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure)
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience writing and maintaining automated tests
• Comfortable working with industrial or data-heavy applications
• Strong communication skills and confidence working within a collaborative engineering team

Nice to Have

• Experience with event-driven architecture or distributed systems
• Familiarity with .NET for industrial or enterprise applications
• Background in real-time data processing
• Experience with Docker or containerised deployments
• Exposure to data platforms such as Databricks or similar
