About You
You are a team player with excellent communication skills, a strong customer focus, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
Join the team behind Australia's leading digital titles, including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and The AFR. We are looking for a Software Engineer to design and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that delight our customers and drive business growth.
What You'll Do Day to Day:
- Develop: Build high-performing solutions aligned with business and tech goals.
- Collaborate: Work with senior engineers to maintain consistent practices across the team.
- Support: Respond to production incidents and ensure product reliability in a fast-paced environment.
- Grow: Stay current with emerging technologies and share knowledge with the team.
- Core: Experience in React JS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and OO programming (Java/C++).
- Design: Background in web/software design and development.
- Education: Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Backend: Experience with Golang, Python, Ruby, or Node.js.
- Architecture: Experience with high-availability solutions and REST APIs.
- Infrastructure: Knowledge of Cloud, Containers, Continuous Delivery, and DevOps.
- Quality: A commitment to well-tested code and technical documentation.
