To support this mission, our client is implementing private satellite communication technology as a backup solution for communication in high-voltage substations. This initiative is essential to guarantee operational continuity and secure data exchange across critical infrastructure.

About the role

As a Private Satellite Communication Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and rollout of satellite communication solutions.

You will act as both a technical expert and project support, ensuring that the solution is robust, scalable, and aligned with operational and business requirements.

Your responsibilities

• Design and define satellite communication solutions in collaboration with contractors and internal stakeholders
• Manage and optimize:
• Data traffic flows
• Network management systems (configuration & monitoring)
• Hub supervision and configuration
• Installation and configuration of antennas and modems in substations
• Cabling, power supply, and application connectivity
• Act as technical expert to validate and challenge proposed solutions
• Serve as a single point of contact for internal teams and support adoption of the technology
• Draft and execute acceptance test plans
• Prepare technical documentation, procedures, and rollout guidelines
• Support project management activities:
• Contribute to planning and prioritization
• Participate in project meetings and follow-ups
• Monitor progress, risks, and issues
• Validate bill of materials and contractor deliverables
• Report on project status

Profile

• Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience with satellite communication or microwave technologies
• Strong knowledge of network engineering and implementation
• Ability to quickly understand and apply new technical concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Experience with technical documentation (architecture, design, implementation)
• Able to work independently in a structured and methodical way
• Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
• Project management and reporting skills
• Fluent in Dutch, French, and English
• Driving license B required
