Network and Systems Administrator

We’re looking for an experienced Network & Systems Administrator to join our client’s IT team and support critical hospital systems that keep services running smoothly.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll design, manage, and optimise infrastructure across servers, networks, and security — while providing excellent support to internal teams and external partners.

This is a permanent hybrid working structure position 4 days in the office, 1 day remote (non-negotiable) in Dublin South - Sandyford.

The base salary is up to €85K p.a.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and support server infrastructure, virtualisation (VMware/Nutanix), and networks (LAN/WAN/WiFi)
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability
• Administer Windows & Linux environments
• Maintain MS Exchange (on-prem), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
• Manage firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, PF Sense) and network security
• Support storage solutions (SAN/NAS) and backup systems
• Maintain enterprise networking (VLANs, Layer 2/3 switching, segmentation)
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to strengthen IT security
• Act as an escalation point for technical issues
• Contribute to IT projects from planning through to delivery

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in System Administration
• Strong networking knowledge (CCNA level or equivalent)
• Proficiency in VMWare administration, Windows Domains, Linux and Mobile Telephony
• Exposure to cloud services (e.g. Office 365)
• Certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, VMware, CISSP (desirable)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Availability for On-Call IT support on a rotational basis.
