GTS Space is working with a company who are delivering one of the most strategically significant European space programmes of the decade — a sovereign, multi-orbit secure connectivity constellation serving governmental, institutional, and commercial users across the continent. They are now looking for an experienced IV&V Systems Engineer to take technical ownership across the Ground, Space, and User segments of the programme.
The role
You will be the recognised IV&V technical authority across the full system, responsible for ensuring complete requirement coverage through test plans produced by subsystem teams, and for overseeing the integration of all subsystems into a coherent global platform. You will operate within an agile project environment where adaptability and a flexible mindset are essential.
What you'll be doing
System interfaces
- Owning interface definitions and associated documentation across subsystems
- Conducting interface risk assessments and driving mitigation from a system-of-systems perspective
- Validating that interface implementations match the documented intent
- Leading point-to-point IV&V activities across the integrated architecture
System verification
- Verifying installation and deployment procedures produced by subsystem teams
- Confirming global system behaviour compliance against requirements
- Verifying end-to-end security and supporting system certification efforts
- Characterising system performance and robustness, including failover scenarios
- Running test campaigns, analysing results, and producing formal verification evidence
Documentation and reporting
- Contributing to user-facing technical documentation
- Producing test reports, compliance matrices, and managing non-conformance lists
- Organising and executing site acceptance tests across AIV phases, both on the ground and in orbit with live spacecraft
Operational support
- Supporting roll-out operations and preparing maintenance activities
- Delivering knowledge transfer and training to ensure a ready-to-use customer platform
- Conducting interconnection testing between spacecraft and ground systems
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a systems engineer with strong IV&V exposure, ideally on satellite constellations, secure communications, or large integrated space programmes
- Deep understanding of the full verification lifecycle, from requirements through to in-orbit acceptance
- Strong command of ECSS standards and systems engineering best practice
- Experience with requirements management tooling (DOORS, Polarion, Jama or similar)
- Comfortable operating at the system-of-systems level, with the technical breadth to work across space, ground, and user segments
- Familiarity with secure comms, cyber certification, or sovereign security requirements is highly desirable
- An adaptive, collaborative mindset suited to an agile delivery environment
Why this role
This is a rare opportunity to sit at the technical heart of a flagship European constellation programme, working across every layer of the system architecture. The work is high-visibility, technically demanding, and genuinely shapes the delivery of critical European infrastructure.
