Working in a role with a cybersecurity SaaS in banking.

Interesting one, because it sits in that sweet spot where you get proper scale and complexity, but they’re not asking for a finished “10 years platform guru”.

They’re looking for someone hands-on and operational, with a solid foundation in DevOps / platform engineering, who wants to grow in a serious technical environment.

Tools;

• AWS
• Kubernetes
• GitOps workflows
• Apache Kafka in an event-driven setup
• Hybrid SaaS / private cloud deployments

This is less about architecting everything from scratch, more about helping operate and improve a critical platform.

Think:

• Supporting and improving deployments
• Working with platform tooling and automation
• Helping improve reliability and operational processes
• Contributing to how distributed systems are run day-to-day
• Learning from a strong senior engineering environment

Nice fit if you’ve worked with things like:

• Amazon Web Services
• GitLab / CI/CD
• Terraform
• Linux / scripting
• Containers / monitoring / ticket-driven operations

Kafka experience helpful, but nobody expects you to have designed messaging infrastructure at scale.

Much more important is curiosity, operational mindset, and wanting to grow in distributed systems.

Good role for someone who wants to step beyond “just keeping things running” and into a stronger platform environment.
