Data Scientist

Masentó is partnering with a global MedTech leader to find a talented and driven Data Scientist ready to make a real impact. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced analytics and healthcare innovation, with the flexibility of either a permanent or freelance engagement. The role carries some on-site expectations in Portugal.

**About the Role**

You will be embedded within a cross-functional environment, bridging the gap between business challenges and data-driven solutions. From model development through to production deployment, you will own the full data science lifecycle — translating complex analytical insights into outcomes that matter across commercial, manufacturing, and supply chain functions.

**What You'll Bring**

• 4–6+ years of hands-on data science experience, ideally within pharma, healthcare, or MedTech

• End-to-end experience across the full data science lifecycle — from problem framing and data wrangling to model deployment and stakeholder communication

• Deep expertise in statistical modelling, predictive modelling, data mining, and machine learning algorithm development

• Strong programming skills in Python or R, including data manipulation, feature engineering, and model building

• Advanced SQL skills, with a track record of building and debugging complex queries

• Practical experience deploying machine learning solutions in production environments

• Proven experience in cloud platforms, with Azure preferred

• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark (highly desirable)

• A solid grounding in software engineering principles and best practices

• Deep specialisation in one or more of: AI, Machine Learning, NLP, or Computer Vision

• Experience working across international settings, including developing markets

• A consultancy or cross-functional leadership background is a strong advantage
