This role sits within a global Enterprise Data Centre and Network organisation responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of modern network infrastructure supporting a large, geographically distributed enterprise environment. The organisation delivers scalable, highly available connectivity services using cloud first principles, automation, analytics, and software defined networking technologies.
The Senior Network Analyst within the Global Network Infrastructure function plays a key role in the development, deployment, and operational support of campus SD WAN and backbone network services across enterprise sites and data centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the senior network engineer analyst responsible for deploying and operating SD WAN and WAN infrastructure based on standard enterprise architectures across campus and data centre environments.
- Design, deploy, migrate, and operate SD WAN fabrics, with preference for Cisco Viptela SD WAN and or Juniper SD WAN, including hub and spoke and regional connectivity models, segmentation, and service enablement.
- Transition legacy WAN networks to software defined networking models using SDN, network function virtualisation, and automation and orchestration to improve agility and operational consistency.
- Partner closely with cross domain infrastructure teams to enable end to end services and operational workflows, including DNS, routing, security controls, monitoring, and coordinated change execution.
- Deliver alignment between campus and data centre routing and the SD WAN edge, ensuring clean integration to core switching and routing, including BGP and OSPF, segmentation using VRFs, and resilient designs.
- Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise SD WAN health and performance, including availability, loss, latency, jitter, application aware routing, and quality of service.
- Drive continuous improvement through the creation and refinement of runbooks, standard templates, and operational documentation.
- Support operational processes including incident, problem, and change execution, and coordinate with carriers and vendors for circuit turn ups, migrations, cutovers, and escalations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of five years of relevant IT infrastructure experience.
- Five or more years of network, WAN, or SD WAN engineering experience deploying and supporting enterprise scale routed networks.
- Three or more years of hands on SD WAN implementation experience, with strong preference for Cisco Viptela SD WAN and or Juniper SD WAN, including policy design, segmentation, and template driven configuration.
- Strong routing fundamentals and troubleshooting expertise across OSI layers, including BGP, OSPF, VRF and segmentation concepts, NAT, and DHCP and DNS dependencies.
- Working knowledge of SD WAN architecture components and operational models, including controller and management plane concepts, centralised provisioning, and monitoring.
- Experience integrating SD WAN edge platforms with campus and data centre routing and switching environments, including high availability and resiliency design.
Preferred Experience
- Deployment and operation of Cisco Viptela SD WAN, including vManage, policy design, templates, and platform upgrades, and or Juniper SD WAN, with an emphasis on standardisation and automation.
- End to end enterprise networking experience spanning campus switching, data centre connectivity patterns, and integration with shared services and security controls.
- Experience executing network migrations and cutovers at scale, including validation steps, hypercare support, documentation of lessons learned, and continuous improvement of standards.
- Knowledge of carrier circuit delivery processes and vendor coordination for SD WAN deployment and support.
- Experience working within a formal service management framework, including disciplined incident, change, and problem management practices.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to define problems, identify options, communicate risk, and facilitate change across both technical and non technical teams.
Additional Information
- Travel requirement is less than twenty percent.
