Senior Network Engineer

Role: Senior Network Hand & Feet Engineer (L2/L3 Physical & Logical Support)

Duration of the role: Minimum 1 year, extendable up to 5 years

Core Objective

Responsible for end-to-end deployment and validation of network infrastructure, ensuring alignment between physical setup and logical configuration across OSI Layers 1–3.

1. Device Installation

• Rack and mount network devices (e.g., Cisco Nexus 9000 series, Cisco Catalyst 9500) using rack diagrams
• Ensure proper power connections (A+B feeds) and rack safety

2. Cabling & Fiber

• Handle SMF/MMF fiber, clean/inspect connectors
• Install and troubleshoot SFP/QSFP modules and link issues
• Follow proper patching and labeling standards

3. Patch Panels & Cross-Connects

• Extend circuits from MMR to racks
• Manage copper/fiber patch panels and perform signal checks
• Support media conversion where needed

4. Remote Access Setup

• Configure OOB access via terminal servers (e.g., Opengear console server)
• Troubleshoot console connectivity and provide local support when required

5. Networking Fundamentals

• L1: Cabling, transceivers, high-speed fiber links
• L2: VLANs, STP, troubleshooting loops/broadcast storms
• L3: IP addressing, SVIs, basic routing
• Verify BGP/OSPF adjacencies and configure LACP/EtherChannel

Required Experience & Skills

• Experience: 6–8 years in a Data Center or large Enterprise campus environment.
• Ethernet, Fiber cabling, Hardware : Experience in installation of ethernet, fiber cabling on Cisco, Arista and Palo Alto, F5 load balancers and its associated components like SFP, PIC, NIM, DPC
• Routing and Switching: Ability to navigate Cisco IOS, NX-OS, PAN OS or Arista EOS to perform show commands and basic interface configurations.
• Tools: Proficiency with Visual Fault Locators (VFL), Light Meters, and Fiber Inspection Scopes.
• Certifications: CCNA or equivalent is mandatory; CCNP Enterprise (ENCORE) is highly preferred to demonstrate routing and switching proficiency.
• Experience in handling mission critical network incidents/problems in Enterprise network Large campus networks and Data center, is preferred.
• Need to be proficient in English and local language in countries like Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, China and Japan
