Junior Network Engineer

Freelance Opportunity (Autónomo): Junior Network Engineer – Madrid (Initial Onsite Required)

We are currently looking for a Junior Network Engineer to join a freelance project in Madrid.

⚠️ Please note: only junior profiles will be considered for this role.

📍 Location: Madrid (1–2 days onsite at the beginning, then can be remote)

📅 Contract: 6 months + possible extension

🗣️ Languages: Spanish & English required

🔧 Role Overview

You’ll be working in a corporate environment supporting, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure. This is a great opportunity for a junior professional looking to gain hands-on experience in an international setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Configuration, administration, and maintenance of corporate networks
• FortiGate firewall support and management
• Aruba switch configuration and administration
• Network monitoring and incident resolution (Level 1–2)
• Technical support to customers (including communication in English)
• Documentation and reporting of incidents
• (Nice to have) Access management via Aruba ClearPass

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (junior profiles only)
• Solid knowledge of:
• TCP/IP, VLANs, routing & switching
• FortiGate (policies, VPNs, security)
• Aruba switching
• Intermediate to advanced English level (technical communication)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team

Nice to Have

• CCNA certification (or equivalent)
• Experience in cybersecurity environments
• Knowledge of corporate WiFi / wireless networks
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools
