Who Will You Work With:
Our client is a global enterprise with a highly sophisticated and large-scale network infrastructure spanning multiple regions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Network Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, and external vendors to ensure seamless network operations. The role operates within a global support model, working closely with distributed teams to maintain high availability, performance, and security standards.
About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Network Operations Engineer (Advanced L2) responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of a global enterprise network. This role emphasizes operational excellence through proactive monitoring, incident management, and structured change execution.
You will play a critical role in troubleshooting complex network issues, optimizing performance, and supporting large-scale infrastructure operations across WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, Internet, and Cloud environments.
This is an initial 6-month contract with potential extensions, along with the opportunity to transition into a 12-month fixed-term contract on the client’s payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, support, and maintain global network infrastructure including WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN (remote & site-to-site), Internet, and Cloud connectivity.
- Respond to incidents, outages, and performance issues with a focus on rapid resolution and minimal business impact.
- Conduct detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Execute network changes including configuration updates, patching, and software upgrades across routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and load balancers.
- Maintain accurate network documentation including topology diagrams and operational procedures.
- Analyze and optimize network performance using tools such as SevOne, Grafana, SolarWinds, and NetMRI.
- Collaborate with service providers and vendors to resolve connectivity and SLA-related issues.
- Support new deployments, integrations, and network-related projects in coordination with engineering teams.
- Contribute to automation and continuous improvement of monitoring and operational processes.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in enterprise network operations or advanced network support roles.
- Professional certification such as CCNP or equivalent.
Technical Expertise:
- Networking Fundamentals: TCP/IP, Subnetting, DHCP, DNS, RADIUS, TACACS+, IP SLA, SNMP
- Routing & Switching: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, HSRP, EtherChannel
- Firewalls & VPN: Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Juniper SRX, FortiGate, IPSec/SSL VPN
- Wireless: Cisco WLC (9800/5520), Wi-Fi design and site surveys
- Load Balancing: Citrix ADC (NetScaler)
- Access Control: Cisco ISE (RADIUS/TACACS authentication)
- Physical Networking: Transceivers, optics, fiber patching, and cabling standards
Tools & Platforms:
- Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
- Collaboration Tools: Office 365, Google Workspace, Visio, Miro, Slack, Zoom
- Remote Tools: SecureCRT
- ITSM: ServiceNow (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
- Network Tools: tcpdump, Wireshark, iPerf, Nmap, SevOne, SolarWinds, Grafana, NetMRI

- Scripting and automation: Python, PowerShell, Ansible, REST APIs
- Familiarity with network automation frameworks: Ansible, Nornir, Netmiko
- Understanding of API integrations and data pipelines
- Experience with structured data formats: XML, JSON, YAML
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Puppet, Chef
