Senior Network Engineer
Hybrid model of work in Wrocław

For our client from Wrocław we are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join a Platform Operations Center team.
In this role, you will monitor, troubleshoot, and support critical network and security infrastructure across large‑scale environments. You will work closely with security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure high availability, fast incident response, and stable network performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Network Operations & Monitoring
- Monitor network performance, availability, and health using NOC tools and dashboards.
- Respond to alerts, incidents, and service degradations in real time.
- Perform first‑line and second‑line troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, VPN, and security infrastructure.
- Escalate issues to senior engineers or vendors when required, ensuring clear documentation and handover.
Firewall & Security Operations (Check Point, Fortinet)
- Manage and troubleshoot Check Point and Fortinet firewalls, policies, NAT rules, VPN tunnels, and SmartConsole operations.
- Support firewall rule changes, security policy updates, and incident investigations.
- Monitor and respond to security‑related alerts and anomalies.
Load Balancer Operations (F5 BIG‑IP)
- Operate and troubleshoot F5 BIG‑IP LTM/GTM environments.
- Support configuration changes, pool/node management, VIP adjustments, and traffic flow issues.
- Assist with iRules creation, troubleshooting and application delivery optimization.
Incident, Change & Problem Management
- Participate in incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑incident reviews.
- Execute approved changes following ITIL processes and change management guidelines.
- Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with network engineering, security, and application teams to resolve issues.
- Provide clear, concise updates during incidents and outages.
- Support continuous improvement of monitoring, automation, and operational processes.
Required Skills & Experience
Networking
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in network operations or NOC environments.
- Strong understanding of:
- TCP/IP, routing, switching
- VLANs, STP, OSPF/BGP basics
- VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL)
- DNS, DHCP, IPAM
- Ability to diagnose packet‑level issues using tools like tcpdump or Wireshark.
Security & Load Balancing
- Solid operational experience with Check Point firewalls (SmartConsole, policy management, VPN, NAT).
- Strong hands‑on experience with F5 BIG‑IP (LTM, GTM, iRules, traffic management).
- Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
General
- Experience working in 24/7 or shift‑based NOC environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Ability to stay calm and structured during high‑pressure incidents.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Recommended Skills and certifications
- Check Point CCSA/CCSE certifications.
- F5 certifications (F5‑CA, F5‑CTS).
- Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Python).
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, DataDog).
- ITIL Foundation certification.
