Python Developer

Position Title: Python Developer (Capital Markets)

Location: Montreal, QC ( Place Ville Marie)

Work Model: Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)

Contract Duration: June 1, 2026 to December 1, 2026

Compensation: $80 to $100 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer to join a fast paced technology team within the banking and financial services sector. This role focuses on developing data driven solutions and analytics platforms that support capital markets activities across asset classes.

The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise combined with a solid understanding of financial instruments and market data.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Python
• Work with large datasets to build analytics and data processing solutions
• Develop and optimize data pipelines for capital markets use cases
• Collaborate with trading, risk, and quantitative teams to deliver business critical solutions
• Write efficient SQL queries and contribute to data modeling initiatives
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in both development and production environments

Required Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python, including libraries such as Pandas and NumPy
• Experience working in capital markets (equities, fixed income, derivatives, or FX)
• Solid understanding of financial instruments and market data
• Strong experience with SQL and data modeling
• Familiarity with Linux or Unix environments
• Experience with version control systems such as Git

Nice to Have

• Experience with pricing models, risk models, or quantitative analytics
• Familiarity with libraries such as SciPy, PySpark, or TensorFlow
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience with real time data processing or low latency systems

• Hybrid model with 2 days onsite at Place Ville Marie, Montreal
