Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality projects by overseeing mechanical systems design, procurement, and implementation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the design and development of mechanical systems from RIBA Stage 3 to Stage 5.
- Collaborating with project planners to develop detailed programmes for tracking installation through to commissioning.
- Managing the procurement of mechanical packages, setting and maintaining cost, scope, and time targets.
- Reviewing and evaluating tender submissions to align with project objectives.
- Upholding the highest standards of health and safety across construction sites.
- Leading and developing project teams, assigning operational responsibilities, and supporting team members’ professional growth.
- Assisting with project commissioning and ensuring seamless operational transitions.
- Overseeing project accounting functions, including budget management and risk mitigation.
- Coordinating efforts among architects, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitoring construction progress and conducting regular status meetings with all sub-teams.
- Maintaining adherence to quality and environmental standards.
- Ensuring the effective use and maintenance of the Project Control System (PCS).
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, reviewing deliverables before submission.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in construction projects, having held an Mechanical lead position previously.
- Relevant qualifications in the field of Mechanical engineering and construction management.
- Thorough knowledge of legal and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Projects effectively.
- Ability to plan and organise a team.
- Effective time management and logical decision-making ability.
- Capacity to work effectively in pressure filled environments.
- Strong focus on quality.
- First Aid.
