About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Network Engineer (m/w/d) to join our Information Technology team at our Langenfeld (NRW) location. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing Leviat's network environment, ensuring seamless connectivity and security across our global operations. You will oversee the management of our on-premises and cloud infrastructure, primarily focusing on Cisco Meraki-based network systems, Azure networking components, and security protocols. Your expertise will be vital in monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing security policies to safeguard our digital assets. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience in network administration or engineering, with a proven track record in managing complex network environments. A technical diploma or an equivalent qualification is required. Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CMNA, CMNP, or PCCET are highly desirable. Practical experience with Cisco Meraki (MX, MS, MR series), Palo Alto Firewalls, and Azure networking services is essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills, familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools, and experience working in hybrid IT/OT environments. Strong communication skills in English are mandatory, along with the ability to work independently and proactively in a team setting. A keen eye for detail, organizational skills, and a customer-focused mindset are also important for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and optimize the Meraki-based network environment, including LAN, WAN, and WiFi systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain network security policies, including VPN configurations, segmentation, and access control measures to protect corporate data and infrastructure.
  • Administer Azure network components such as virtual networks (VNets), subnets, network security groups (NSGs), Azure VPN Gateways, and ExpressRoute connections, ensuring alignment with organizational security standards.
  • Configure and manage Azure Firewall, routing tables, and network/application rules to maintain a secure and efficient cloud environment.
  • Monitor network performance and stability across all company locations, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incident reports to support ongoing management and audits.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes following ITIL standards to ensure consistent and effective handling of network-related issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new project deployments and infrastructure upgrades, ensuring best practices are followed.
