About Mindler

Mindler is a digital mental health platform operating across five European markets; Sweden, the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, and Denmark. We connect people with licensed therapists through video and chat, and we build the tooling that makes quality mental healthcare accessible at scale. Our team is distributed, with a Stockholm office as our hub.

About the Role

You will join the team responsible for backend development and integrations across our platform. We're a small, lean organisation, which means the code you write has immediate impact, the decisions you make stick, and the people you work with are senior colleagues rather than layers of management.

It's an interesting moment to join. We're building a new unified platform to replace and consolidate our existing systems, while continuing to run and improve the current ones. That means meaningful backend work: APIs that matter, data models that hold up, and integrations that need to be rock solid because they touch real clinical workflows.

What You will Do

Design, build and maintain backend services in TypeScript, AWS Lambdas, APIs, containers, and the databases behind them. Ship features end-to-end, from design through to production. Push on how we work: our processes for quality assurance, delivery, and time-to-market aren't sacred, and we want someone who will challenge them where they're not serving the team or the product.

You will work closely with a dedicated Product Manager, a designer, our localisation manager, and the other tech teams. You will also interact with customer service staff and clinicians across Sweden, the Netherlands, and the UK who are the people whose work our platform enables.

Who We're Looking For

Someone with 8+ years of software development experience who has worked in a modern engineering team and knows what good looks like. You're fluent in TypeScript, you reach for tests without being asked, and you can think clearly about data — SQL isn't a mystery to you.

You're self-motivated. We support each other, we pair and mob regularly, and we try to keep meetings to a minimum, but this only works when each of us can drive our own work forward without constant direction. You communicate clearly, especially across a distributed team and with non-engineering colleagues who need to understand what you're building and why.

Must-haves

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong TypeScript
  • Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions (or equivalent CI/CD fluency)
  • Automated testing as a default way of working
  • Solid grounding in databases and SQL
  • Fluent English

Nice-to-haves

  • AWS (our primary cloud)
  • PostgreSQL and tRPC (or similar typed-API approaches)
  • Experience building AI-driven features
  • Infrastructure as code and containers — CloudFormation, Docker
  • Start-up or scale-up experience
  • Healthcare or other regulated industry experience

What We Have

A TypeScript-first stack running primarily on AWS, with some GCP in the mix. Lambdas, APIs, containers, relational databases. A React Native app today, with a growing focus on the web, as customers expect a full web presence. A set of senior full-stack engineers committed to the cause. ISO 27001 certification and the security posture that goes with building in healthcare.

What We Offer

A distributed team that actually works, we help each other, we ship, and we don't drop things on the floor. A Product Manager who handles stakeholders so you can focus on building. An Engineering Manager who listens and takes the quality of your working life seriously. And a mission we genuinely believe matters: making mental healthcare accessible to more people, in more places.

Location

  • Based in Stockholm; minimum 3 days in office.

We will be screening and interviewing on a rolling basis.

We look forward to hearing from you!
