Senior Process Commissioning Engineer
Location: Stord / Offshore Norway
Employment: Contract (24 months)
Start Date: 1st June
Role Purpose
The Process Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for completion, commissioning and start-up activities across process modules, ensuring systems are tested, handed over safely and prepared for operations. The role has a key focus on the MEG module and associated process systems, requiring strong technical understanding and hands-on commissioning experience. The position will begin onshore in Stord before mobilising offshore to the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning & Start-Up
Execute commissioning activities for assigned process systems, with particular focus on the MEG module
- Support static and dynamic commissioning phases
- Ensure systems are tested in line with approved procedures and technical documentation
- Contribute to safe and efficient start-up and initial operations
- Support smooth transition from project phase to operations
Technical Delivery
- Verify systems are installed in accordance with AFC drawings, ISO drawings and P&IDs
- Carry out walkdowns, system verification and yellow line mark-ups
- Update master dossiers, valve lists, blinding lists and red-line mark-ups
- Develop commissioning work instructions
- Prepare boundary isolation PID and SLD mark-ups
- Manage technical clarifications through to implementation and testing
- Provide technical expertise relating to MEG systems, package readiness and commissioning execution
Coordination & Reporting
- Interface with client teams, suppliers and internal engineering teams
- Attend commissioning planning meetings
- Report daily progress to Commissioning Field Lead
- Assist third party resources delivering services, materials or equipment
- Maintain strong communication between operations, maintenance, contractors and suppliers
HSE & Site Leadership
- Carry out JHA / JSA and toolbox talks
- Promote strong HSE and quality standards throughout delivery
- Provide guidance and direction to commissioning teams
- Participate in MC, RFOC and discipline walkdowns
Requirements
Qualifications
- BSc in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience
- Valid offshore certificate including medical and offshore training
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in lead commissioning roles within process systems
- Strong Oil & Gas project delivery background
- Offshore commissioning and start-up experience essential
- Experience with technical queries, design changes and field implementation
- Strong experience with MEG systems / MEG modules highly preferred
- Experience with TEG, Seawater Treatment or Sulphate Recovery systems beneficial
- Process design knowledge advantageous
