Senior Network Engineer

Our client is hiring a Senior Data Centre Network Engineer to help design, build, and scale high-performance data centre networks supporting advanced AI and GPU workloads.

Based in Cork, this is a senior technical role where you’ll act as a key escalation point and lead major network initiatives, including international deployments with travel to Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver modern leaf-spine data centre networks for large-scale compute and storage environments
• Own L2/L3 networking across technologies such as BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, MLAG/vPC, and QoS
• Lead network lifecycle management, including scaling, upgrades, capacity planning, and change execution
• Build and support load balancing and application delivery solutions (including GSLB, DNS, and SSL offload)
• Contribute to AI/GPU networking, optimising performance for distributed workloads (RDMA, RoCE, high-speed Ethernet)
• Drive automation and network-as-code practices to improve reliability and operational efficiency
• Troubleshoot complex issues and deliver long-term, sustainable fixes
• Support on-site deployments in Saudi Arabia and collaborate with global teams

Requirements

• 7+ years’ experience in data centre or enterprise networking
• Strong experience with leaf-spine architectures in multi-vendor environments
• Deep expertise in EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, and L2/L3 networking
• Solid understanding of load balancing, DNS, and PKI/SSL
• Proven troubleshooting skills in large-scale environments
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally, including Saudi Arabia
• Fluent in English
