Senior Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python and SQL.
Design and optimize data models and warehouse structures for analytics.
Develop and orchestrate reliable data workflows (e.g., Airflow, Data Factory).
Implement data processing solutions for large datasets, including distributed systems when needed.
Manage cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with a focus on performance and cost efficiency.
Ensure data quality, governance, and security across pipelines.
Apply software engineering best practices (Git, CI/CD, monitoring) to ensure production reliability.

Requirements (Must Have):

Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development Advanced SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, performance optimization)
Solid understanding of data modeling (3NF, star/snowflake schemas)
Experience with relational and analytical databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
Hands-on experience with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Data Factory)
Practical knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data services
Understanding of ETL/ELT patterns and data warehousing concepts
Experience handling large datasets and optimizing performance
Familiarity with data quality, validation, and governance practices
Proficiency in version control (Git) and basic CI/CD practices

Nice to Have:

Experience with Apache Spark (PySpark / Spark SQL) or other distributed processing frameworks
Proficiency in Java or Scala (especially in Spark-based environments)
Familiarity with streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub)
Knowledge of Bash / shell scripting Experience with dbt or similar data transformation tools
Understanding of infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM)
Exposure to data governance, lineage, and compliance frameworks
Familiarity with BI/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
Experience integrating data from APIs and SaaS platforms
Awareness of cost optimization (FinOps) in cloud environments
