Senior AI Engineer

Role Description Summary

This is an opportunity for high-performance individuals who want to understand the whole picture of how AI and data-driven transformation affects businesses and shapes organizations. As part of SES’s global Data Analytics & Integration function, you’ll join the team driving the AI Hub initiative of highly diversified and collaborative people, applying generalist problem-solving skills to strategic questions. You will have an opportunity to participate in the Digital Transformation of a Satellite Company by keeping a start-up mindset, problem-solving attitude, management consulting approach, and a passion for data-driven thinking. You will be on a mission to leverage state-of -the art AI and data technologies to drive simplification and automation, re-think how work gets done together with business stakeholders all-across the company.

Primary Responsibilities / Key Result Areas

• AI Solutions Development and Execution: Support the development, execution, and implementation of AI solutions to simplify and automate business processes, drive tech innovation, and re-engineer workflows. Act as an in-house AI consultant for business departments, providing end-to-end solutions in areas such as GenAI customer support, AI workflow automation, AI document processing, and data extraction
• Project Management and Delivery: Support project management activities and lead assigned work packages with a high degree of autonomy, ensuring customer-centric, lean start-up methodologies, engage in bottom-up projects and support project delivery and operational activities
• Data Analysis and AI Pipeline: Gather and analyze information, challenge ideas, develop and communicate recommendations, and experience the entire AI pipeline from identifying and integrating new data sources to modeling, transformation, and exploitation
• Hands-On AI and Data Activities: Engage in hands-on activities related to Data Quality, Data & AI Governance, AI & Data Engineering, and Business Intelligence based on expertise

• Data Engineering principles: Be able to engineer and implement data pipelines to support applications. This includes SQL and NoSQL open source and/or enterprise solutions.
• Proficiency with Data Manipulation and Transformation frameworks (also in Python)
  
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Internationally recognized university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Have 3-10 years of experience working (preferred but not a showstopper):
• with a consulting firm, ideally around digital transformation, AI & analytics topics.
• in a corporate role focused on AI & analytics, AI governance, digital areas (e.g., business analyst).
• in a tech start-up firm.
• or in an AI-driven product company.
• Experience with cloud-based AI Platform infrastructure and resources.
• Knowledge about AI/ML and experience with applied AI solutions. Proven technical hands-on knowledge of various technologies around AI, data management, and analytics.
• Fluency in written and oral English. Other languages are considered valuable assets.
• Experience working in an international business environment.
• Azure and/or AWS certifications are an asset, especially within AI Engineering and/or Science.
