Senior Network Engineer (AWS) – Contract

• Location - Amsterdam (Hybrid, 2 days/week onsite)
• Duration - 18 months (likely extensions)
• Rate - €105 per hour

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a leading technology-driven organisation, supporting large-scale public cloud networking and security infrastructure. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a high-performing Central Technology team, helping to shape the future of cloud connectivity and network security in a fast-paced, global environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of AWS-based network infrastructure, while contributing to automation, optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and improve large-scale AWS cloud networking environments
• Design and manage cloud networking components (VPCs, Transit Gateways, VPNs, etc.)
• Implement and manage cloud-based firewall solutions (e.g. Palo Alto)
• Automate network provisioning using Python and Terraform
• Monitor performance and proactively resolve issues
• Collaborate with engineering teams and external vendors

What We’re Looking For

• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, BGP, routing & switching)
• Hands-on AWS networking experience
• Experience with cloud security and firewall technologies
• Strong Python scripting skills
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform)
• Ability to work in complex, multi-vendor environments
