Overview

We are looking for a Technical Product Owner / Product Specialist – Fabrication Platform (ERP-focused) to drive the evolution of a highly complex, scalable ERP-driven fabrication platform.

This role is not a traditional Product Owner or Product Manager role.

We are specifically seeking a hands-on ERP expert / technical consultant profile who understands how ERP systems actually work at configuration and functional depth, and can translate real manufacturing and fabrication processes into robust system design.

Success in this role requires the ability to design, validate, and evolve ERP functionality in close collaboration with engineering and product teams, ensuring scalability and architectural consistency.

This person acts as a functional and technical authority for ERP-driven fabrication processes, ensuring that solutions are not just “defined,” but correctly structured, feasible, and system-aligned.

Key Responsibilities

ERP & Platform Functional Ownership (Core Responsibility)

  • Act as the functional and technical owner of ERP-related capabilities within the fabrication platform
  • Deeply understand ERP modules such as: Production planning, Manufacturing execution, Inventory & materials management, Costing & controlling
  • Translate real fabrication processes into ERP-aligned, configurable system behavior
  • Ensure platform design follows ERP logic, constraints, and best practices
  • Identify when requirements require: configuration, extension, integration or redesign of ERP processes

Platform & System Design Contribution

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to define system architecture for ERP-heavy capabilities
  • Support the design of integrated workflows between ERP and adjacent systems
  • Ensure scalability by promoting configuration over customization
  • Act as the guardian of ERP integrity across the platform

Requirements Engineering & Functional Breakdown

  • Work directly with operations, fabrication plants, and business stakeholders to gather real requirements
  • Challenge and refine requirements based on ERP feasibility and system logic
  • Translate business needs into: functional ERP designs, system flows, user stories (only when needed for delivery)
  • Define clear functional specifications and acceptance criteria
  • Identify cross-module and cross-system dependencies early

Integration & Technical Understanding

  • Understand and contribute to ERP integration design with: MES / shop-floor systems, engineering tools, reporting / analytics layers
  • Support engineering teams in implementing ERP-related functionality correctly
  • Ensure end-to-end process consistency across systems

Stakeholder & Technical Alignment

  • Act as a technical translator between ERP logic, engineering, and operations
  • Lead functional deep-dives and solution design workshops
  • Ensure stakeholders understand: system constraints, trade-offs, ERP-driven design decisions
  • Build alignment around feasible, scalable solutions (not local optimizations)

Delivery Support (Not Pure PO Execution)

  • Support Agile teams during implementation with deep functional ERP expertise
  • Validate implemented solutions against ERP and process correctness
  • Support UAT with strong system-level understanding
  • Ensure delivered functionality matches true ERP behavior and business reality

Required Experience

We are looking for candidates with deep ERP / technical consulting background.

Must Have:

  • 5–10+ years experience as: ERP Consultant / ERP Functional Consultant, Technical Consultant in manufacturing systems or ERP Specialist / Solution Architect (functional-heavy)
  • Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems
  • Good understanding of: production planning, inventory management, costing structures, manufacturing workflows
  • Experience working with ERP configuration and real system behaviour (not only documentation or process mapping)
  • Proven ability to translate shop-floor / operational processes into ERP system logic
  • Experience in complex, multi-module ERP environments

Strongly Preferred Domain Experience

  • Fabrication / industrial manufacturing environments
  • MES / ERP integration experience
  • Multi-site or global manufacturing operations
  • Digital transformation in manufacturing or supply chain
  • Experience working close to engineering or system architecture teams

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or similar
  • Strong ERP functional depth (this is critical)
  • Ability to understand system-level implications of ERP changes
  • Strong analytical and structured thinking
  • Excellent communication with both technical and operational stakeholders
  • Agile awareness (Scrum/Kanban), but not as primary identity
  • Fluent English
