Project Manager - Plastic Applications
About the Role
A leading manufacturer in high‑performance polymer solutions is seeking a Project Manager - Plastic Applications to support the development of innovative automotive solutions in collaboration with major OEM and Tier 1 customers.
This position is ideally suited to an individual with strong technical expertise in injection moulding and plastic component design, combined with a structured, project-driven mindset and the confidence to work directly with customers and internal stakeholders.
You will act as the technical interface between customers, sales, and internal teams, supporting product development from concept through industrialisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer-focused development projects within automotive plastic applications
- Provide technical consultancy on material selection, component design, and processing technologies
- Plan and carry out trials, sampling, and validations using advanced injection moulding facilities and at customer sites
- Develop feasibility studies, technical evaluations, and cost calculations to support commercial decisions
- Work cross-functionally with R&D, production, materials analysis, marketing, and sales teams
- Monitor market developments to identify emerging technologies, trends, and application opportunities
- Deliver technical presentations and contribute to internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Candidate Profile
- Degree-qualified in plastics engineering, materials science, or mechanical engineering
- Hands-on experience with injection moulding technologies and plastic component development
- Strong interest in current and future automotive technologies
- Commercially aware, proactive, and comfortable managing projects in a customer-facing environment
- High level of initiative, adaptability, and willingness to take ownership
- Confident communicator with strong English language skills (written and spoken)
