Senior Software Engineer (Hands on Tech Lead)

Full-time · Oslo, Norway or Lublin, Poland

At Dignio, we are shaping the future of healthcare by making it more accessible, sustainable, and patient-focused. Our innovative remote care solutions empower healthcare providers to offer flexible, patient-centered care from the comfort of patients' homes. By combining an advanced health platform, a user-friendly app, and a wide selection of connected health monitoring devices, we make it possible to remotely monitor a variety of health conditions, reducing hospital visits and improving outcomes.

We are at a pivotal moment in our journey. With around 200 contracted municipalities and several major hospitals in Norway, as well as expanding operations in the US and Canada, we are scaling rapidly to meet the growing demand for our solutions. In 2022, we were honoured with the Oslo Innovation Award, with the jury recognising how our technology positively impacts the entire healthcare ecosystem: from patients and their families to healthcare personnel, organisations, and budget holders.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Tech Lead) to join us in revolutionising the healthcare industry.

About the Role

As a Tech Lead at Dignio, you will play a central role in leading the technical direction of our products while being actively involved in coding and problem-solving. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring our technology remains secure, scalable, and ready for the future. Working with cutting-edge tools like Python, React, Typescript, PostgreSQL, Docker, and AWS, your contributions will directly impact the lives of patients and healthcare providers worldwide.

This is a hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to lead development, guide the team, and ensure high-quality code standards across our entire stack.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical direction and oversee the architecture of our tech stack.
  • Stay actively involved in coding—this is a hands-on role that requires strong backend expertise, particularly in Python.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Develop new features and maintain existing services in collaboration with a cross-functional team.
  • Drive DevOps initiatives, ensuring our platform is secure, stable, and highly available.
  • Optimise the performance of the platform for maximum efficiency and scalability.
  • Mentor and support other engineers, promoting best practices for clean, reusable, and maintainable code.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead with 7+ years of relevant experience (or 6 years with exceptional talent). You should be excited about being hands-on with the code while leading technical decisions. You should have:

  • Strong backend development experience, with a focus on Python. Knowledge of Frontend technologies (React, Typescript) is also essential.
  • Experience leading or mentoring teams in a Tech Lead or similar role.
  • A strong orientation toward DevOps and an understanding of cloud environments—experience with AWS is a plus.
  • Passion for writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • A desire to actively contribute to Dignio’s mission of revolutionising healthcare by making care more accessible and flexible for patients and healthcare providers.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience as a Tech Lead or in a similar leadership role is an advantage.
  • Expertise in Backend development (Python) with understanding of Frontend technologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • Proficiency with our core technologies: Python, React, Typescript, PostgreSQL, Docker, GitHub, and AWS.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.

What We Offer

  • A key leadership role in a company that's revolutionising healthcare and making a real difference in people’s lives.
  • A fast-growing tech environment that values personal and professional development.
  • Opportunities to solve complex, impactful challenges daily.
  • A forward-thinking culture that encourages participation in hackathons, meetups, and personal projects.
  • Broad exposure to technologies including frontend, backend, DevOps, and cloud.
  • Flexibility in work location and hours.
  • A diverse, ambitious, and passionate team.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Company health and travel insurance for you and your family.
  • Modern offices in central Oslo or Lublin.
  • Lunch, social activities, and fun at work!

Our recruitment process consists of two meetings:
