Our client, a well-established national membership-based nonprofit organization within the finance and payroll space, is seeking a Data Analytics Specialist with a strong background in data analytics, reporting, and data infrastructure to join their growing team.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a data-driven, collaborative environment and brings a strong foundation in SQL, Python, and data visualization. You will play a key role in supporting data strategy, reporting, and system initiatives, while helping drive insights that support both internal teams and a large national member base.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics & Reporting
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Analyze complex datasets to generate actionable insights for business stakeholders
• Support reporting needs across multiple departments
Data Management & Engineering Support
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and transformation
• Support data pipelines and automation workflows (e.g., Power Automate, Airflow, Azure Data Factory)
• Assist with data migration and system implementation projects
Data Strategy & Governance
• Contribute to data governance initiatives, including data quality and cataloging
• Support the development of data standards and best practices
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across business and technical teams
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Support working groups and cross-functional initiatives
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Explore opportunities to leverage automation and emerging technologies
• Support initiatives related to AI/ML tools and advanced analytics
• Stay current on trends in data analytics and business intelligence
Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, or data engineering
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau)
• Experience with data automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Airflow, Azure Data Factory)
• Experience supporting data migration or system implementation projects
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Must be eligible to work in Canada
Nice-to-Have
• Experience with AMS platforms (e.g., iMIS, Salesforce)
• Exposure to Azure, Snowflake, Fabric, or dbt
• Experience with AI/ML tools (AutoML, Azure ML, Copilot analytics)
• Background in data governance or data cataloging
• Experience in nonprofit, association, or education environments
• Experience working in mid-sized organizations
