About The Project

TUI, is a global business with over 70 000 people on board, great history and challenging plans for building a digital future. TUI is the largest leisure, travel and tourism company globally, and it owns travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise ships and retail shops.

As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be part of a cross functional team that is responsible for the delivery and operation of all E-commerce solutions and products.

You will design, build, test and deploy cloud native applications while applying modern engineering practices, a strong DevSecOps mindset and a customer centric approach. You’ll work in an international, multi cultural environment, collaborating closely with engineers across the domain and contributing to continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Responsibilities

Contribute across the full software development lifecycle - from design to deployment
Own applications end to end within a cross functional or practice team
Build cloud native, high performing solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, CloudFront, EventBridge, ECS, DynamoDB and S3
Develop modern web interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and contemporary styling approaches
Implement and integrate RESTful APIs across client and server
Work with SQL, NoSQL and MySQL data persistence technologies
Build, maintain and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Git
Optimize performance and ensure clean, scalable architectures with a high degree of automation
Research and evaluate new tools, processes and technologies and support teams in adopting them effectively

Qualifications

Strong expertise with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js
Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (preferably Vue.js / Nuxt.js)
Deep knowledge of HTML5, CSS3/SCSS and UI/interaction design principles; familiarity with utility first frameworks such as Tailwind
Experience with C# and .NET or PHP and WordPress will be beneficial
Experience with RESTful API development and consumption
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and cloud architecture patterns (Lambda, CloudFront, EventBridge, ECS, DynamoDB, S3)
Strong proficiency with Terraform
Good understanding of CI/CD, GitLab pipelines and automation workflows
Strong communication, problem solving and collaboration skills
Experience with static site generation: nice to have
Upper-intermediate level of written and spoken English
