We are looking for a Technical Project Manager for our client who can act as a genuine bridge between software and hardware teams - not just coordinating tasks, but understanding both worlds well enough to add technical value.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong software engineering background, experience with computer vision, ML, robotics, embedded systems, or autonomous platforms, and the ability to turn field test results into clear engineering priorities.
You will work closely with CV/ML, embedded, robotics, and hardware engineers, support the Lead Architect in researching and validating technical solutions, and help champion AI tooling across the engineering team.
What You’ll Do
You will own delivery across several mission-critical autonomous systems workstreams, including autonomous drones, turret control, and future platforms.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing planning, tracking, risks, reporting, and delivery across multiple technical workstreams
- Acting as the main technical liaison between software, CV/ML, ROS, hardware, and embedded teams
- Translating polygon and field test results, including HIL/SIL outcomes, into clear engineering tasks
- Working directly with the Lead Architect to research solutions and prepare structured technical proposals
- Coordinating module integration, including optical guidance, servo control, ROS layers, interfaces, latency requirements, and milestones
- Maintaining project documentation, including requirements, test reports, decision logs, and vendor deliverable tracking
- Introducing and promoting AI tools across engineering workflows
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in a CV/ML, technical lead, or architect-related role
- Solid understanding of computer vision pipelines, including detection, tracking, SLAM, or visual odometry
- Ability to evaluate accuracy, latency, and field performance trade-offs
- Strong Python skills
- Ability to read and understand C++ code
- Experience managing complex technical projects across multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to convert field test results into prioritized engineering tasks
- Strong Jira and Confluence skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable leading technical discussions and justifying trade-offs
- Daily active use of AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar
What We Offer
- A central role in mission-critical autonomous systems development for national defense
- Direct collaboration with strong CV, embedded, and robotics engineers
- Significant influence on technical direction and engineering culture
- Freedom to explore and introduce AI tools across team workflows
- Competitive compensation aligned with your expertise
- Temporary exemption from military service for the duration of work on defense-critical projects
This is not a classic project coordination role. We are looking for someone who can combine technical depth, delivery ownership, systems thinking, and strong communication in a fast-moving engineering environment.
