Role Description

This is a remote contract role for an Infrastructure Architect / DevOps Specialist at Accion Labs. The role involves tasks such as designing and implementing infrastructure solutions, creating solution architectures, managing networking systems, and overseeing system administration duties to ensure efficient operations and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Infrastructure Design & Management: Architect and manage scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure, and OCI.
• Database Management: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of both SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB) database solutions.
• Data Migration & Integration: Oversee data migration, transformation, and integration strategies (ETL/ELT) to support cloud-based storage and processing systems.
• Performance Tuning: Conduct database performance tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and low-latency operations
• Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain database security protocols, compliance, and governance to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design and manage infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) for repeatable and efficient provisioning.
• DevOps Automation: Implement CI/CD pipelines and promote automation across cloud deployments using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Utilize Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, and Azure AKS for containerization and orchestration to streamline deployment processes.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Design and implement strategies for backup, disaster recovery, and high availability to safeguard business continuity.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure seamless solution deployment.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based database and infrastructure solutions, especially on AWS, Azure, and OCI.
• Strong expertise in SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB) database technologies.
• Solid understanding of data migration, transformation, and integration practices (ETL/ELT).
• Proficiency in performance tuning, database optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure design and management.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) and cloud-native technologies.
• Strong experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS, Azure AKS).
• Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies for mission-critical applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
