Computer Engineering — AI Data Trainer

About The Role

We're looking for computer engineering experts to help train and improve the next generation of AI models. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs — and your deep technical knowledge is exactly what's needed to make these systems smarter, more accurate, and more reliable.

This is a rare opportunity to apply your hardware, architecture, and systems expertise in a high-impact, fully remote freelance role — on your own schedule.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Advanced Challenges — Create complex, domain-specific problems spanning RISC-V/ARM architecture, FPGA development, memory management, embedded systems, and hardware-software co-design
  • Build Ground-Truth Solutions — Author rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions including assembly code, HDL snippets, and architectural diagrams that serve as gold-standard references for AI training
  • Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated code (C/C++, Verilog, VHDL), logic gate designs, and OS kernels for technical accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards
  • Sharpen AI Reasoning — Identify logical failures such as race conditions, memory leaks, and improper timing constraints, then provide structured feedback to improve how models think through hardware and systems problems

Who You Are

  • Pursuing or holding a Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science (hardware focus), or a closely related field
  • Strong foundational knowledge in one or more of: Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, Digital Logic Design, or Operating Systems
  • Able to communicate complex hardware concepts and low-level software logic clearly in written form
  • Detail-oriented — comfortable working at the level of bit operations, clock cycles, and hardware timing
  • No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, data quality, or evaluation systems
  • Proficiency in tools like MATLAB, ANSYS, or similar engineering software
  • Background in hardware security, networking, or distributed systems

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside top AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and as much as you want
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Direct impact on how AI understands and reasons about computer engineering
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
