One of our Clients is seeking Data Analyst to engage at Sydney location.


Role: Data Analyst

Location of work: Sydney

Length of contract: 06 months + extension

Security clearance: Australian Citizen/ PR/ Full working rights


Requirements:

Overview: The Data Analyst transforms raw data into clear, actionable insights that support data driven decision making across the organisation. The role ensures accurate analysis and effective communication of complex information in a way that is accessible and meaningful to business stakeholders.


Key accountabilities:

• Lead and conduct data analysis using Enterprise approved visualisation tools to generate insights that inform strategic and operational decisions.

• Investigate and identify practical data driven solutions that meet business needs and align with industry best practice and standards.

• Develop, automate and maintain complex SQL scripts and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in data handling.

• Convert business questions into data queries, and clearly communicate the results through dashboards, reports, and presentations using effective visualisation techniques tailored for non technical audiences.

• Interpret and translate analysis results into clear, succinct technical specifications or user stories that guide business initiative.

• Monitor, track and report on progress toward key deliverables, ensuring business outcomes and goals are achieved.

• Collaborate effectively within and across teams, managing multiple work streams with a focus on producing successful results.

• Role model, promote and actively demonstrate Transport’s cultural values and behaviours to deliver optimal outcomes for our customers, our people, and our communities.


Key challenges:

• Working across multiple work streams while maintaining effective and responsive communication and support.

• Advising on and driving improvements in data processes within an environment with varying levels of technical maturity and process development.


Mandatory Skills & Experience:

  • Applied knowledge of business analysis and communication, including identifying opportunities, risks, and performance insights, and presenting complex data and technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver data visualisations and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), including embedding Tableau dashboards into websites using JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and transformation, and Python for data analysis, automation, and statistical modelling.
  • Foundational knowledge of Azure cloud services to support data storage, integration, and analytics workflows.
