We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Program Delivery team within Payments | Canadian Banking. You will guide a group of project managers in delivering highly complex projects from initiation through to closure. This role is instrumental in ensuring the success of various payment-related projects within CIBC, including the digitization of bank drafts, upgrading card systems, and executing regulatory and customer-oriented initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead end-to-end delivery of complex projects, ensuring successful initiation, requirement gathering, design, construction, testing, implementation, and closure.
- Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, technology teams, and payment business units to ensure project requirements are met and delivered within approved budgets and timelines.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed project documentation, including business requirements, process maps, and test plans.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test strategies, support user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensure post-implementation validation and monitoring.
- Leadership: Mentor and guide business analysts and project coordinators, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Strategic Execution: Contribute to the strategic direction and implementation of Payment & Transformation strategies, leveraging Agile methodologies where applicable.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong internal relationships, actively seeking opportunities to improve processes and facilitate workshops for requirement and process mapping.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 4+ years managing large end-to-end projects with a strong understanding of IT project processes (UAT, SIT).
- Education: Degree in Business, Commerce, Project Management, or a related field. PMP certification is an asset but not required.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Ability to lead from the front with assertiveness and a proactive approach.
- Nice to Have: Experience in payments, deposits, or cards projects. Previous experience in financial institutions (FI) is advantageous.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a positive attitude towards change and continuous improvement.
