About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join our team at Qualcomm India Private Limited. This role involves developing security mitigation features at both kernel and user space levels, with a primary focus on Android Open Source Project (AOSP) environments. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand security design reviews and contribute to designing and implementing solutions that enhance device security. The role requires a proactive individual capable of independently driving features and resolving complex security issues, ensuring the robustness of our products against emerging vulnerabilities. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from a reputed institution, with a strong academic record. A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience is required for bachelor’s degree holders, with additional experience preferred for higher qualifications. Candidates should have at least 2 years of programming experience in languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python. Familiarity with Linux kernel internals, Android development, and embedded programming is essential. Knowledge of ARMv8/ARMv9 security extensions, fuzzing tools, and automation scripting will be advantageous. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security mitigation features at the kernel and user space levels, ensuring they align with industry best practices and security standards.
• Collaborate with technical teams to review security design proposals, identify potential vulnerabilities, and suggest effective alternative solutions.
• Work on integrating security features such as SE Linux, ARM security extensions, and other hardware-based security mechanisms into the Android platform.
• Utilize fuzzing tools like Syzkaller, Trinity, or AFL to identify vulnerabilities within kernel drivers and other critical components.
• Create automation tools using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages to streamline security testing and vulnerability detection processes.
• Conduct thorough analysis of security vulnerabilities and develop patches or mitigations to address identified issues.
• Participate in code reviews, security audits, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall security posture of Qualcomm products.
• Stay updated with emerging security threats, industry trends, and advancements in hardware security extensions to proactively adapt security strategies.
