Lead Java Engineer – Contract – Dublin/Hybrid - €500pd

We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Lead with a robust background in microservices architecture, ideally experienced in complex, enterprise environments. You will drive technical excellence, mentor team members, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable solutions.

2-3 days per week on site in Dublin

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of microservices-based applications.
• Guide and mentor engineering teams, fostering best practices in software development.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure robust integration with eventing and messaging interfaces (e.g., Kafka, MQ).
• Oversee database technology usage (e.g., DB2, Cassandra) and optimize access patterns.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, performance, and security.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Strong background in microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot technologies.
• Experience with eventing and messaging interfaces (Kafka, MQ).
• Familiarity with database technologies (DB2, Cassandra) and associated access patterns.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
• Experience in complex, enterprise environments is highly desirable.
