🚨 Freelance Python AI Engineer (Banking | 100% Remote from Spain) 🚨

We are currently looking for an experienced Python AI Engineer to join a strategic long-term project within the banking sector.

📍 Location: 100% Remote (must be based in Spain)

📅 Start: ASAP

💼 Contract: Freelance / Autónomo - full time position

🏦 Industry: Banking

🤖 Focus: AI / Generative AI transformation programme

📆 Duration: 12 months + renewable

About the project

This is a high-impact international AI initiative focused on building and industrialising scalable AI solutions in a complex enterprise banking environment.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Data Engineering, MLOps, and Software Engineering to design and deliver production-grade AI systems.

The environment is highly technical, collaborative, and focused on real-world deployment of AI capabilities at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python-based services for AI and GenAI use cases
• Design and implement AI agents and orchestration frameworks
• Build APIs, integrations, and microservices across complex systems
• Contribute to RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions
• Work in cloud environments (GCP or similar hyperscalers)
• Integrate AI models into scalable production systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Ensure best practices in CI/CD, testing, and production readiness

Required experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Python development
• Proven experience in AI / Generative AI projects
• Experience building APIs and system integrations
• Familiarity with cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Understanding of AI agents or automation frameworks
• Knowledge of RAG concepts
• Fluent Spanish (mandatory)
• Must be based in Spain and available for freelance engagement

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM-based architectures or multi-agent systems
• Exposure to MLOps or AI platform engineering
• Experience with Databricks, BigQuery, or similar data platforms
• Background in consulting or large enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of scalable and production-grade system design
