AI Engineer – Enterprise AI for Defense Sector

We are looking for experienced Platform Engineers who wants to help strengthen our team working with NATO and Norway's digital defense capability. You will work in a domain where precision, security and speed are critical, and where AI gives operational units a real edge through faster and more reliable decision-making.

Your Role And Responsibilities

  • Implement and integrate AI-driven solutions into secure, mission-critical systems
  • Develop RAG pipelines and optimize LLMs for situational awareness, decision support, and operational analysis
  • Build APIs, integration layers, and event-driven workflows that enable real-time information
  • Ensure reliable operations, performance, observability, and compliance with strict security requirements
  • Collaborate closely with architects, analysts, and operators on defense-related projects

In this role, you'll be a key contributor, bridging advanced AI technology with demanding environments with strict requirements for data security, resilience, and responsible use.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • Experience with AI/ML platforms such as Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, IBM Watsonx, or OpenShift AI
  • Strong understanding of LLMs, RAG architectures, and vector databases
  • Solid experience with Python and frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel
  • Proficiency in API development, microservices, and containers (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • A clear grasp of secure and responsible AI, including handling of sensitive data
  • Eligible for security clearance at a minimum of Norwegian SECRET and/or NATO SECRET
  • Fluent in Norwegian (C1 minimum)

An experienced and versatile AI Engineer who takes ownership, works in a structured way, and understands the importance of security, reliability, and quality in mission-critical environments. You are comfortable turning advanced AI concepts into practical, scalable solutions that create real operational value. You collaborate well across disciplines, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and contribute to strong team delivery. You are motivated by continuous learning and by building AI solutions that have a direct impact on national security, preparedness, and decision support.
