Seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to lead and oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of IT Systems. The incumbent is responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of the project, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and alignment with customer’s requirements. This role involves planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of project progress, while managing resources, risks, and stakeholder communication effectively.

• Contribute to project and Maintenance Systems meetings by identifying gaps and recommending continuous improvements.
• Lead and oversee active projects and Maintenance Systems, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure efficient execution and schedule adherence.
• Identify potential technical risks and work collaboratively with engineering teams to design and implement appropriate solutions.
• Control and maintain all project documentation, ensuring records related to system extensions, technology refreshes, and obsolescence replacements are accurate, up to date, and well managed.
• Interface with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure Maintenance Systems are delivered in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Manage engagement with external service providers and contractors to support effective project delivery and maintenance activities.
• Drive stakeholder engagement and alignment throughout planning, decision-making, and execution stages.
• Apply strong negotiation skills to achieve optimal outcomes with internal and external parties.
• Produce, interpret, and communicate detailed reports, providing clear updates and insights to customers.
• Manage the transition of systems from project completion into the maintenance phase, ensuring seamless handover and operational readiness.
• Utilize knowledge of service operations KPIs and system availability requirements to support service performance.
• Oversee project financials, including budget planning, scope definition, design considerations, and deliverable management.
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance frameworks and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Monitor project performance proactively and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and resolve issues.
• Build, motivate, and sustain high-performing teams aligned with service and maintenance objectives.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers by assigning project responsibilities and supporting technical skill development.

Qualities We Value

• Experienced with Windows server OS, Unix/Linux OS in virtual environments
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Virtualisation and Hypervisors, Nutanix platform preferred
• NCP/NCM certification will be an added advantage
• ITIL certification will be an added advantage
• Strong knowledge in VPN, firewalls and other security appliances
• Strong knowledge in network switches/routers
• Strong knowledge in Container technology and various platforms
• Deep understanding of various IT functionalities that make up a complete IT System Infrastructure
• Excellent written and verbal communication to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment
• Pro-active, dynamic and with good analytical/conceptual thinking
• Able to work independently as well as in a team and good interpersonal skills
