As a Tech Lead, you'll bring your expertise into a new way of working. You won't just write code, you'll specify, orchestrate, validate, and ship with AI as your primary collaborator. You'll work in a small, mission-driven cross-functional team called a pod: three functions (Product, Engineer, Quality) with high agency, shared ownership, and no hand-offs.
What You Will Do
- Own a business-outcome mission with your pod:from discovery through production and measurement
- Operate in continuous flow (Kanban): pull work, respect WIP limits, ship daily
- Use AI agents as your primary delivery mechanism|:code generation, testing, spec writing, deployment
- Design, build, and debug software across the stack with distributed systems awareness
- Evaluate and tune agent workflows; steering docs, prompts, rules, skills. You improve the tools you use
- Write clean, well-tested code and take ownership of quality end-to-end
- Map dependencies and integration points before building. Anticipate downstream impact
- Contribute to shared tooling, knowledge bases, and the agent foundation kit
- Coach and grow engineers in the pod, raise the bar on craft, AI fluency, and ownership
- Participate in hiring, interview, assess, and help build the team
.
We assess every candidate across six core dimension
- AI Fluency: AI is the primary way we engineer. You prompt, evaluate, iterate. Manual coding is a deliberate choice, not the default
- Cross-Functional Versatility: "That's not my area" doesn't exist. You contribute beyond your discipline, share openly, and communicate clearly across formats
- Customer and Value Awareness: Ask "why" and "for whom" before "how". Zoom out to see the business, zoom in to trace the bug. Map dependencies before you build
- Craft: Pride in the quality of what you create;specs, prototypes, or code with AI assistance. Clear structure, attention to detail, and a bar that applies to every artefact you ship
- Technical Curiosity: Build a prototype and break it before reading the docs. Stay curious about how things work
- Agency & Entrepreneurship: Don't wait for permission. Own outcomes end-to-end, make others successful, challenge the status quo.
Must Have
- Strong proficiency in at least one of: Java/Spring Boot, Python, .NET, Go, and Angular, with the ability to pick up others with AI's help
- Solid grounding in engineering fundamentals: distributed systems, data structures, API design, database concepts, and cloud computing
- Experience with clean code practices, TDD, CI/CD, and version control
- Experience with application monitoring, observability, and production debugging
- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes, microservices, and event-driven architectures
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (code generation, pair programming, automated testing.
- Experience with agent systems, MCP/tool protocols, or building AI-augmented workflow
- Experience designing evaluation or observability strategies for AI outputs
Nice to Have
- Contributions to shared tooling, internal platforms, or open-source projects
- Background in industries with strict regulatory requirements (gaming, financial services, healthcare)
- Experience with chaos engineering, resilience testing, or performance optimisation
