Java Technical Lead-Specialist-Financial Services

Job Description

Tremend is looking for a Technical Lead to join our team of bright thinkers and doers. Responsibilities:

Lead the design and development of Java-based applications and services
Define and evolve system architecture, coding standards, and best practices
Act as a technical decision-maker and point of escalation for complex issues
Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, and critical system components
Mentor and coach engineers, supporting technical and career growth
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
Drive adoption of modern engineering practices (clean code, testing, CI/CD)
Ensure software quality, performance, security, and scalability
Participate in planning, estimation, and delivery commitments
Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

7+ years of professional software development experience, primarily with Java
Strong expertise in Java (Java 8+), OOP, and design patterns
Extensive experience with Spring / Spring Boot and RESTful APIs
Proven experience leading technical teams or acting as a technical lead
Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
Experience with relational databases and SQL
Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end)
Excellent communication and leadership skills

Set yourself apart with:

Experience in a people-management or player-coach role
Cloud experience, preferably Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud
DevOps and CI/CD experience (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions etc.)
Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes / AKS)
Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM, Terraform)
Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, Azure Service Bus)
Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana)
Experience with security best practices
