Senior Backend Engineer

We’re partnering with an ambitious HealthTech company building a next-generation data platform that powers critical healthcare integrations across major enterprise partners.

They’re now hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to take ownership of their external API layer and core data platform - a role with real architectural influence in a fast-moving, zero-to-one environment.

The Role

You’ll design and scale external-facing APIs used by enterprise healthcare clients, while shaping the backend systems that ingest, normalize, and expose complex health data (EHR, wearables, labs, medication, and more).

This is a high-ownership role where you’ll work closely with partners’ engineering teams and play a key part in defining the company’s backend architecture as it evolves.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and evolve external/public APIs with strong versioning and long-term stability
• Own key platform components across the data ingestion and integration layer
• Build scalable systems to process structured, unstructured, and high-frequency time-series health data
• Develop pluggable ingestion frameworks for third-party integrations
• Collaborate directly with enterprise partners to deliver embedded product integrations
• Shape backend architecture in a fast-paced, greenfield environment

What We’re Looking For

• 5–12 years of backend engineering experience in production environments
• Proven experience building and maintaining external/public APIs used by customers or partners
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, distributed systems, and queuing systems
• Proficiency in TypeScript / Node.js
• Experience owning and scaling foundational data models
• Background in startups or building new systems (zero-to-one mindset)
