Our Regional Engineering team based in Qatar is expanding and looking for a Senior Project Engineer to support the growth of the team. Our engineering department is responsible for our marine, land transport and lifting projects. Turning complex problems into efficient solutions, ensuring seamless execution, resulting in high quality service for our clients.

Position

As a Senior Project Engineer you are responsible for the technical execution of our projects. Your tasks, expectations and responsibilities

  • First point of contact for commercial and operational teams to provide support and input.
  • Provide guidance and support for Project Engineers and Draftsmen to lead the engineering deliverables for projects.
  • Check and approve Engineering documents for technical accuracy and operational efficacy.
  • Report and keep track on project status and register technical project changes and variations to quantify change hours during a project.
  • Attend Project meetings, provide updates and deliver concise technical input.
  • Prepare documents for execution of projects independently (e.g. Manuals, Drawings, Risk assessments etc)
  • Serve as the point of contact with clients and marine warranty surveyors for resolution of technical queries.
  • Attend critical operation execution at projects and conduct surveys and client meetings on site.
  • Provide input to the project close out for the project evaluation, and lessons learned.
  • Receive feedback on practicality of the operations and in case required register the lessons learned
  • Prepare, improve, and share in-house developed tools and spreadsheets.
  • Train and mentor (Project) Engineers and Draftsmen.
  • Provide input for the performance review and appraisal of the (Project) Engineers and Draftsmen.
  • Travel regionally for project execution and commercial support.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned by manager or supervisor.


Your qualifications

  • Higher Education, Masters or Bachelors in; Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Maritime Technology or Naval Architecture.
  • Five to eight years of relevant work experience in heavy lift engineering with a leading global or regional company. Familiar with Crane lifting, Conventional & SPMT land transports, Jacking & skidding, Load outs and Marine Engineering, and Intermediate structural design (desirable).
  • Experienced with AutoCAD (ability to do 3D drawings is desirable)
  • Experienced with Engineering analysis software packages (GHS, Liccon, RFEM, etc)
  • Driving license from a GCC country or from country of origin.
  • Preferably a certified/licensed Civil or Mechanical Engineer in country of origin.
  • Preferably with overseas heavylift engineering experience.

Our selection process

The recruitment procedure will include two face-to-face interviews, possibly back-to-back. Your terms of employment and benefits package will be discussed at a subsequent meeting. We aim to finalize the entire process within 4 weeks.
