Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and implements emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a Human Resources Officer (Partnership)to join our teamin Kyiv.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
HR Support and Advisory to Partners
To be successful in this role we expect you to have minimum 2 years of professional experience in HR management, administration, records management, or related roles. Experience working with partner organizations, NGOs, or in the humanitarian sector is an advantage. Moreover, we also expect the following:

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
HR Support and Advisory to Partners
- Provide regular support to partners on human resource management, including recruitment processes, employment relations, basic payroll principles, and other HR processes.
- Provide practical recommendations to improve HR processes in line with Ukrainian legislation and the organization’s internal policies.
- Support partners in the implementation of HR tools and procedures.
- Follow up on the implementation of recommendations and inform the line manager on progress or challenges.
- Travel to partner organizations as needed to provide HR support, conduct assessments, and offer consultations.
- Conduct initial and regular assessments of partners’ HR management systems (availability of policies, procedures, HR documentation, and organizational structure).
- Identify gaps and potential risks in partners’ HR processes.
- Prepare reports and practical recommendations based on assessment results.
- Monitor progress in the implementation of recommendations and update the status of changes.
- Support ensuring that partners’ HR processes comply with Ukrainian legislation and internal organizational policies.
- Identify HR-related risks in a timely manner and inform the line manager.
- Provide basic recommendations to mitigate risks and support partners in their implementation.
- Advise partners on organizing transparent and fair recruitment processes, including development of job descriptions, composition of recruitment panels, and use of candidate assessment tools.
- Review recruitment processes to ensure compliance with principles of equal opportunity, transparency, and objectivity.
- Plan and deliver HR-related training sessions for partners.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and guidelines in collaboration with the HR Manager and/or HR Specialist.
- Collect feedback on training sessions and support partners in applying the knowledge in practice.

Required
- Higher education in “HR Management and Labor Economics", "Law", "Documentation and Information Activity", "Record Keeping" or related specialization.
- Knowledge of labor legislation, employment regulations, and HR management practices.
- Languages: fluency in Ukrainian and at least an intermediate level of English.
- Computer skills: confident user of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Experience in organizing and delivering trainings, presentations, and learning activities.

- Collaborating: You involve relevant parties and encourage feedback.
- Taking the lead: You take ownership and initiative while aiming for innovation.
- Communicating: You listen and speak effectively and honestly.
- Demonstrating integrity: You uphold and promote the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct in relation to our values and Code of Conduct, including safeguarding against sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment.
- Contract length: 12 months fixed-term employment contract with a probationary period of 3 months.
- Band:H – non manager.
- Designation of Duty Station: Kyiv. The position requires travel across Ukraine.
- Start date: as soon as possible.
