Role Description

This is 60% Senior Electronics Hardware Engineer role on an 18-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent contract, with a hybrid work model, offering a balance between working on-site in Biel and some remote flexibility. The engineer will design and develop advanced electronic hardware, including circuit design, prototyping, and schematic reviews. Day-to-day tasks also include collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, supporting the testing and optimization of prototypes, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards in hardware design.

Your Profile

• You have a university degree (Master or PhD) in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering or equivalent field
• You have several years of experience in hardware development and PCB design (experience in the field of medical devices is a plus)
• You have experience in managing projects related to product development (knowledge of ISO 13485 QMS is a plus)
• You possess a strong sense of responsibility, maintain high work standards, and excel as a collaborative team player
• You are able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• You are passionate about innovation and consider the latest cutting-edge technologies in your daily work
• Your language skills (written and oral) are proficient in English. German or French is a plus

Your Skills

• You understand customers needs and are able to transfer them to technical requirements and implementations
• You demonstrate agility when developing medical solutions in environments where requirements and constraints evolve over time
• You bring solid experience in analog electronics, particularly in the design, amplification, filtering and conversion of low-amplitude (bio-)signals
• You’re proficient in analog electronics, electronics design, schematic drawing, and PCB layout using Altium Designer (knowledge of IEC60601-1 and related standards is a plus).
• You possess professional hardware debugging and troubleshooting skills on various platforms
• Experience with electronics simulation tools (e.g., SPICE-based tools) for circuit analysis and design validation is a plus
• Strong expertise in programming languages commonly used in Desktop and Embedded Systems development, such as C/C++
