Software Architect

The organisation is seeking an experienced Software Architect to help design and evolve modern, cloud-native applications used at scale. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining technical direction, designing robust architectures, and collaborating closely with engineering, product, and leadership teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

This role suits an individual who enjoys combining hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and own scalable, secure, and maintainable system architectures using AWS
• Define architectural standards and best practices for React and Node.js applications
• Lead architectural decisions across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure
• Translate business requirements into clear and effective technical solutions
• Review system designs and code to ensure quality, performance, and security
• Mentor engineers and support their technical development
• Drive improvements across CI/CD pipelines, observability, and system reliability

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience working as a Software Architect or Senior Engineer on complex systems
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (such as EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS)
• Extensive experience with Node.js backend development
• Strong background in building modern frontend applications using React
• Experience designing distributed systems and RESTful or event-driven architectures
• Solid understanding of security, scalability, and performance considerations
• Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Exposure to microservices and serverless architectures
• Experience working in agile, product-led environments
• Previous experience mentoring or leading engineers
