About the opportunity

Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager, Altrad is appointing a high-calibre Senior Project Manager to take a pivotal leadership role on a major structural remediation project in Geraldton. Operating on a FIFO roster from Perth, this position offers the opportunity to step into a critical, site-based role with significant influence over project delivery and performance.

This role calls for a proven project leader with a track record of delivering complex works, particularly within complex contracting environments. As a senior member of the project leadership team, you will shape outcomes through decisive leadership, strong commercial oversight, and effective stakeholder engagement - ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Your day-to-day includes:

  • Lead the analysis and reporting of project performance metrics, driving initiatives to optimize productivity and outcomes across all project phases.
  • Ensure full compliance with contract requirements by allocating and managing adequate resources to sustain strong project performance within budget throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain strategic oversight to prioritize project activities and resource distribution, ensuring alignment with financial forecasts and budget targets.
  • Collaborate with internal and client stakeholders to develop and implement project strategies that align with the company’s broader business objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and advance new opportunities for project improvement, presenting actionable proposals for approval and execution.
  • Oversee the management of external contractors and suppliers, ensuring their engagement, performance, and deliverables meet quality standards and contractual obligations.

About you

You are a seasoned project leader with a demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale, commercially complex projects, bringing a sharp commercial mindset and confidence operating within high-value, high-risk environments.

Your experience spans structural remediation in heavy industry settings, where you’ve consistently driven performance through strong leadership, proactive risk management, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing commercially complex projects exceeding $100 million, coupled with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven commercial acumen, effectively managing scope change, contract variations, and mitigating financial risks.
  • Experienced in managing brownfields remediation projects, meeting tight deadlines, mitigating critical path delays and achieving the desired level of productivity.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement and client management, building collaborative and productive relationships.
  • Responsible, adaptable, and an effective communicator across all organizational levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction management practices, standards, systems, and processes specific to structural remediation within the heavy industry.
  • Deep understanding of industry best practices and their practical application to successful project delivery.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
