This is a role for someone who likes the messy, exciting bit before everything is perfectly defined.

The company is a venture capital firm investing in early-stage digital businesses across Europe and beyond. They are building an internal platform that helps the investment team analyse opportunities faster, interpret data clearly, and decide whether something is investable or not.

They already have strong product and commercial knowledge in the team, but now they need someone who can really own the development side.

You’ll be building a Python-based platform that works with financial, company and market data, helping the team make quicker and better investment decisions. The product also touches on liquidity, trading, stocks and shares, so experience in fintech, banking, investments or capital markets would be very relevant.

You’ll be:

• Building the platform from the ground up in Python
• Turning investment and product ideas into working software
• Working with financial and market data
• Creating tools that help users quickly understand whether an opportunity is investable
• Developing backend services, APIs and platform logic
• Supporting frontend development where needed
• Working directly with commercial, product and investment stakeholders
• Taking ownership of architecture, development and technical direction

You’ll bring:

• Expert Python development experience
• Experience building platforms, tools or products from scratch
• Some frontend experience
• A fintech, banking, investment, trading or capital markets background
• Strong backend and data-handling skills
• A product-minded approach to engineering
• The ability to work independently in a small, fast-moving environment

Bonus points for:

• Investment, buyout, VC or private equity exposure
• Experience with trading, stocks, shares or liquidity platforms
• Experience building dashboards or decision-support tools
• Previous zero-to-one product experience
