A Day in The Life Of:
In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Software Engineer II role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Design, develop, and test software for class I, II and III medical devices per software standards, e.g. IEC62304.
- May provide hands-on leadership, coaching, mentoring, and software engineering best practices to entry level software engineers.
- Participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code and other engineering artifacts, ensuring timely delivery to meet program commitments.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives for the software team. This includes recognizing areas for improvement as well as working with others to develop and document process improvements.
- Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will increase team velocity.
- Work collaboratively across functions and with internal and external partners to deliver high quality products to the marketplace.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant technical experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of technical experience.
- Passion for creating high quality software and documentation
- Strong Leadership and mentoring skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proficiency working in a team environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in software design for medical devices
- Experience with Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development
- Proficiency in two or more of the following technologies: C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, C#, .NET, Python, Angular, Xamarin
- Object orientated design and implementation.
